The Fashion Institute and Technology has had
its best and brightest fashion ever.
However, it is not the
kind of fashion you imagine or used to seeing, where models walk the runway and
people sit and gather around to witness the show.
Well, like in every
annual student fashion show – there are student designers who are most probably
and often times in their senior, who were chosen to showcase their own designs
and collections.
There are various
styles and categories, men’s wear and women’s wear but unlike the usual shows,
there is no runway for the models to walk on.
For this show, FIT
really kind of thought about this brilliantly cool idea, they used the street
as the runway. Meaning like literally having the models walk the designs on the
streets with lots of people who normally walking those streets as they go to
their works or do their daily routines, so in a way they become the audience as
well of the fashion show.
It just seems fitted,
especially that the collections were mostly work or business wears, the kind of
garments you would put on daily whether
to work, school or just like half walk on the streets.
The people loved the
collections, they find it very comfortable and the women’s wears in particular
are very chic and fashionable and the accessories, boots and shoes and bags
really match the whole ensemble.
The designers must have
really thought of every detail in the designs, you can tell by just looking at
the pockets and zippers – they in a way don’t just work as what they are but
rather makes the outfit be worn in two or three ways. It’s awesome.
It’s the kind of dress
you would love to put on, and they are definitely going to end up in stores
very soon if not instantly.
What a great idea for a
fashion show, who better to see the collections than the people whom these
designs will be sold to if ever.
